Tri-Star Packaging has expanded its extensive sustainable foodservice packaging options, with the introduction of EdenPak. Made from PEFC-certified Carbon Balanced Paper and available in kraft or white, the range is 100% recyclable and certified home or industrially compostable.

“For many years, our mission has been to seek out, test and introduce a wider variety of more environmentally sustainable packaging.” says Tri-Star Packaging Sales Director Lee Richards. We are now excited to introduce EdenPak – a new range of home-compostable foodservice packaging, which is fully recyclable.

At a time when our customers and their end-user consumers are demanding more genuinely sustainable foodservice packaging, we are proud to announce EdenPak. This innovative range is lined with as premium food grade barrier coating, which offers a grease and leakproof barrier. The range is also TÜV certified to be home compostable within 12 weeks.

The EdenPak range features packaging options for everything for burgers to baguettes, while the sandwich wedges, tortilla wrap boxes and salad noodle packs feature compostable and recyclable plant-based window film.

Carbon balanced, sustainable packaging

The paperboard used to make the EdenPak range has been tested and certified by leading independent bodies, including ISEGA, TÜV, World Land Trust, PEFC, Cyclos Institut & SGS.

Operated by the World Land Trust, carbon balanced packaging addresses the effects on climate change via an official offsetting scheme. Carbon balanced packaging comes with a registered environmental logo and an official World Land Trust certificate, which endorses the amounts of reduced carbon emissions and conservation land reclaimed through the scheme.

The material used to make the EdenPak range is also from PEFC-certified forest. The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC), is a leading global alliance of national forest certification systems, dedicated to promoting sustainable forest management through independent third-party certification.

EdenPak delivers on Tri-Star’s mission to encourage the use of the most environmentally-friendly foodservice packaging options.” concludes Lee Richards. EdenPak’s materials are all from sustainable sources and from 100% recyclability to being home-compostable, the range not only delivers on effective and efficient end-of-life solutions, but also enables a conversation with our customers around developing more closed-loop systems.
